The Quarterbacks go where?!

The top four quarterbacks were the main attraction tonight. Sure, we had plenty of talent at other positions, but as it always does, the focus was placed on the signal-callers, the franchise changers. The night started off chalk, but one QB fell much farther than most thought, and a current starter who is destined for the Hall of Fame may not be happy tonight.

Joe Burrow, the Heisman, and National Championship winner, went to the Bengals as expected. There was no shock here. The next QB of the board was Tua Tagovailoa, but where did he go? The Miami Dolphins were able to land the Alabama star by staying at number five overall. The Dolphins seem to have pulled off the ultimate smokescreen this offseason. Nobody was able to figure out with 100% certainty what the plan was until it was executed. The two most talented QBs went off first.

The next QB came off at six to the Los Angeles Chargers in Justin Herbert. He walks into a group of weapons featuring Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Hunter Henry, and Austin Ekeler. Will the young gun be the replacement for Phillip Rivers that fans hope he will be?

The last of the QBs to go in the first round was the talented, but inconsistent Jordan Love. The unexpected happened at 23 when the New England Patriots traded back with the Los Angeles Chargers instead of taking the QB. Then at 26, the Miami Dolphins traded back with the Green Bay Packers, who have future HOF’er Aaron Rodgers. Despite that fact, they decided to look to the future and grabbed Love. Is this Deja Vu? Many will remember when the Pakcers took Rodgers while they still had Brett Favre.

Our hosts are never scared to bring the heat toward each other, and this time was no different. As the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft came to a close, the trash-talking has just begun.
