The 2020 NFL Free Agency period will officially kick off at 4 PM EST on March 18, 2020 and over 500 players will hit the open market hoping to land on a team for the 2020 season. Here at Pro Football Network, we will have all of the latest news, rumors, predictions, and other information as it relates to the players on the move.
Prior to the free agent period officially beginning, the legal tampering period will start on March 16 and run up until the official start of the free agency period. This period is when teams are permitted to contact, and enter into contract negotiations with, the certified agents of players who will become unrestricted free agents upon the expiration of their 2019 player contracts at 4:00 PM EST on March 18.
There is going to be plenty of action during this year’s free agency period as several big names have their contracts expiring. This includes the likes of quarterbacks Jameis Winston, Philip Rivers and yes, even Tom Brady. Teams will look to clear cap space to sign skill players, including pass rushers such Jadeveon Clowney and wide receivers such A.J. Green and Emmanuel Sanders. Some, such as Dak Prescott, may see the franchise tag get applied to them if they can’t work out a long-term deal.
Below are all of the latest news and rumors we are hearing, courtesy of PFN Insiders Ben Allbright and Tony Pauline. We are also pulling in reports from other various outlets, with those citations noted. Be sure to bookmark and refresh this page as we head into the 2020 free agency period.
